Pre-care instructions for brows

In order for your new brows to heal properly (and look their best) these Pre & Post Care Instructions found below are of the UTMOST IMPORTANCE! Pre-Care instructions are designed to limit bleeding and skin sensitivities during the service. Excessing bleeding during the procedure will dilute the pigment color and lead to poor results!

Attention Please: We strongly advise prospective new clients to book their appointments at least 3-4 months in advance of Vacations, Weddings, and Special Occasions. This allows adequate time for healing and time to receive touch ups. Some New Clients may require multiple sessions ( at an additional cost) to achieve their desired density and shape. To achieve the best results, it is essential that you understand and follow the pre-care instructions. This process can take up to 4 weeks.

4 Weeks Prior

Botox & Fillers must be done at least 4 weeks prior to your procedure.

Discontinue the use of any Anti-aging products such as: Glycolics, Retin-A, Retinol, Vitamin A, Chemical and Laser Peels, Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), any chemical exfoliant or "brightening" skincare and any products that contain any Hylauronic Acid 4 weeks prior to your appointment. The use of any of these products less than 4 weeks prior to your service may cause poor retention and results!

No Anti-aging and/or Anti-acne products

No Surgery of any kind.

Discontinue the use of any Eyebrow growth serums and stimulants (like Grande Brow) for a minimum of 4 weeks prior to your procedure.

We will not be able to tattoo over any blemishes, sores, and moles in or around the brow area

1-2 Weeks Prior

Avoid sun and tanning bed 1-2 weeks prior to appointment.

No facial or chemical peels 2 weeks prior to appointment.

Avoid Fish Oil, Prenatal Vitamins, Nutritional Shakes (Shakeology, etc), "Hair, Skin, Nail" supplements 2 weeks prior to procedure.

Avoid waxing or tinting 1 week prior to appointment.

Exfoliate the area to prep your skin for the procedure.

48-72 Hours Prior

Do not work out 48 hours prior to your procedure. Increased circulation may cause bleeding during your procedure, diluting the pigment, and leaving you with poor healed results.

No blood thinners such as Ibuprofen, aspirin, Aleve, NSAIDS, vitamin E, fish oil or vitamins unless medically necessary 48-72 hours prior to your appointment.

Avoid smoking any substances for 48 hours prior to your appointment.

24 Hours Prior

NO ALCOHOL and NO CAFFEINE (Yes, there is still caffeine in Decaf coffee and tea!) 24 hours prior to your appointment. This will prevent any excess bleeding, oozing and minimizes swelling during the procedure.

Day of Appointment

Please wash your hair the morning/day of your appointment, this will simplify the after care for you.

Please Note: You will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE HEALING PROCESS (estimated timeline below)

Day 1-3:

Brows look darker, thicker (swollen) and sensitive. Don't worry, the color will fade over the next week.

Day 4-7:

Brows will begin to scab/flake and patchy. Do not panic!

Day 8-14

Brows are completely peeled & color seems very faint/light.

Day 15-35:

Color comes back, starts to resurface and darken. At this point, you can decide if there is anything you want to add or change.

After the healing process is complete take care of your brows by applying sunscreen or moisturizer with an SPF every day to help protect your brows from the UV rays (environment). This helps slow down the fading time.

Protect your investment after your brows have Fully Healed

- Exposure to the sun and tanning beds will cause premature fading and discoloration of the pigment.

- Apply a physical sunscreen daily on brow area once completely healed (4 weeks) to prevent premature fading, this will help protect your brows from the UV rays and will slow down the fading time. We love this sunscreen Skinceuticals Physical Fusion. You can also apply a moisturizer with an SPF in it we love Image Skincare Tinted Moisturizer.

- For further sun protection wear hats, sunglasses, and stay in the shade!

- Maintain removal of unwanted brow hair outside of your tattooed brow to upkeep your shape and design by waxing (please have this service professionally done), tweezing, threading or razoring.

- Lasers will alter the color of the pigment. 20% zinc oxide must covering your brow tattoo prior to any facial laser services.

- Yearly touchups are recommended to maintain your results.

- Certain skincare products and services will cause premature fading of your brow tattoo and may also alter the pigment color. Please apply a barrier layer of Vaseline over your brow tattoo before use of any of the following: Glycolic acid, Salicylic acid, Alpha Hydroxy acid, Hydroquinone, Retinol/Retin-a, vitamin c, peels, microdermabrasion, Obagi ,or anything anything that brightens or treats hyperpigmentation.

- Frequent chlorine swimmers, please apply a barrier layer of Vaseline over your tattoo prior to swimming, to prevent premature fading.

-The above Pre and Post-Care for brows will affect how quickly or slowly you heal. Your lifestyle and daily habits play a significant role in how well your brows heal and how long they retain their color. Factors such as age, diet, stress levels, smoking, alcohol consumption, overall health, and quality of sleep can all impact the longevity and vibrancy of your brows. Taking care of your health and following recommended pre- and post-care can help keep your brows looking their best for longer.
